NEW Spring Message series:
"The Unexpected Adventure"

The Adventure is coming into focus: So motivated by our love for God and our love for people that we can share our faith confidently and in a winsome way-- just as Jesus would if he lived next door!  Hearing a model testimony of how Jesus Christ changed a life-- and realizing we have a testimony to share as well... Realizing that there's an "Evangelism that looks like you"--  a style that fits with the unique person God made you to be, a style he has given you to share Christ with others... And The Heart of the Adventure:  how to share the life-changing truth about God, Us, and how we can cross the chasm of sin that separates us from God through the cross of Jesus Christ.

And what would it be like if you made yourself available to others so that the unexpected adventure of seeing them find new life in Jesus Christ could happen at anytime "along the way"?

This Sunday, come hear the next message in our series:  "3 Habits of a highly contagious Christian."   Come and hear how Jesus turned conversations into eternal turning points-- and how you can too!

UPCOMING EVENTS AT SRC:  Not to miss...

South Riding Community Yard Sale Outreach  Saturday May 3

Spring is in the air!  And so is another opportunity to extend the love of Jesus Christ without any strings attached as we pass out free water during the annual spring community yard sale.  Sign-up sheets for shifts beginning at 6am are available at hospitality today.  As you Spring clean, please put aside any house wares, books, toys etc that you would like to donate to SRC's booth.  Please bring any and all to the Branches... and pray that every gift of a free bottle of water in Jesus' name will touch the hearts of our neighbors!  If you have any questions, please call Maryann Branch at (703) 327-3318.

Can a Christian man be brave and safe?

Samuel B. Casey, Director, Christian Legal Society

Sunday May 4  5:30-7:30 pm, 26016 Iverson Drive in South Riding

Mark your calendars for the second installment of Men, Meat, and Fire!  On Sunday, May 4th, South Riding Church is hosting a Men's Leadership dinner at the home of Jason Wheeler in South Riding with special guest speaker Sam Casey, executive director and chief executive officer of the Christian Legal Society.  Sam blessed us with a visit to SRC a couple of weeks ago and those who had the pleasure of meeting Sam and hearing his testimony would surely agree that this is not one to miss. (You can hear Sam's testimony on our website/sermon podcasts at www.southridingchurch.org/media/Resources.aspx)

Sam and his wife Jill live in Fairfax and recently celebrated 35  years of marriage.  They both worship weekly at The Falls Church, where Sam teaches an adult class on Biblical principles for conflict resolution.

The event will run from 5:30pm-8:00pm.  We plan to kick things off with a backyard barbecue.  Burger, dogs, drinks and chips will be provided, but no one will complain if you want to bring something extra to share or throw on the grill.

Please reply via email or phone to Jason Wheeler ( jason.wheeler@slma.com or 703-327-5051) if you think you can join us.  More information will be forthcoming.

And en-couragement weekly over coffee and God's Word

"We're starting another season of small groups at SRC... And I know how important the weekly men's group is for encouraging me in my walk with the Lord as a husband, father, pastor and friend.  I'm grateful for the guys I meet with, grateful that we have found a time (0615-0715 Fridays) before work that minimizes our time away from family, and grateful for the encouragement I've received as we have discussed how to pray more effectively, and how to encourage each other in prayer.

You're welcome to join us any Friday 0615am at Manhattan Bagel in the Greenbriar Shopping Center (Chantilly)... This Friday we begin a new six week series on how to Study and Meditate on God's word, the Bible.  if you'd like to start a group with a different topic, and at a time and place more convenient, please see me.  I'd be delighted to help you launch!" ---  Fr. Phil

HomeBuilders Small Group is also starting again Friday May 2d  6:00pm

Please join us for this enriching series on Biblical principles for marriage and family growth at the home of Paul and Maryann Branch (25200 Planting Fields Road, SR  703-327-3318).  All families are welcome!  We will meet on Friday May 2d at 6pm to talk about study topic and meeting times.  Light dinner will be provided.  Please RSVP if you plan on attending.

Have a wonderful weekend-- we'll see you on Sunday!
