Charity Ayebale is a 4 year old little girl who lives in Uganda and who also has a big hole in her heart... that's right, she has a defect in her heart that requires surgery very soon.  Fr. Phil met her and had the privilege of holding her and praying for her at the altar of St. Matthew's Cathedral, Masindi on Sunday September 3.  She is so weakened and frail from this condition that she has to be carried everywhere, and doctors in Uganda have recommended her for extraordinary heart surgery in India that will be donated by a charitable organization, "the gift of life E.A". 

 

All Charity and her parents need are the funds to make the trip.

 

Despite their extreme poverty, the members of St. Matthew's Cathedral have raised 1/3 of the travel expenses.  Would you like to help make the gift of life possible for little Charity?  We are soliciting donations to cover the other 2/3 of her travel expenses, $1600 USD.  This Sunday, our children raised $38 USD from among themselves!  If you would like to help, please make your check out to South Riding Church with the notation on the memo line, "Charity fund"
